Project Management

Portfolio, program, and project management are aligned with or driven by the business rationale and organizational strategies. Projects are often utilized as a means of directly or indirectly achieving objectives within an organization's strategic plan. Project management is a discipline of functional management; the body of knowledge associated with projects, professions, industries to perform these functions is vested in established standards and their practitioners. Businesses produce; this production generally involves either operations management or project management, although the two may overlap. Operations and projects differ primarily in that operations are ongoing and repetitive while projects are temporary and unique. A project is a temporary endeavour undertaken to create a distinguished product or service.
