The German Language

German language is the main spoken language in central europe, and it is relatively widely understood throughout eastern europe where it has been a popular second language for centuries.

An understanding of the German language is key to access information published in german, as well as to communicate with business people and consumers in or from german speaking countries.

German is the main language of about 90–95 million people in Europe, plus an additional 80 million german speakers worldwide, who learned german as a second, or third language.

Most european languages trace their origins back to India, hence they are referred to as Indo-European Languages. Within Europe itself, German is most closely related Dutch and ancient German it is the main language from which English originates.

Europe is the geographic area where german is most widely spoken. The map below shows the countries that speak german, or countries where a significant number of citizens have adopted german as a second language.

Language Services

In the world of business, organizations want to spread their message and to make consumers aware of the benefits and value of their products and services. In fact, there is more information being published than at any other time in known recorded history.

To be able to share in the benefits of the information age, people need to have the information they require presented in a language that they can readily understand. Conversely, persons and organizations need to present their communications in a language others can readily understand and correctly interpret.

Translation Services

Intellia Ltd provides language services based on source material from:

We can also provide a "Live" Translation and Interpretation service. This service is dependent upon the availability of an adequate translator and interpreter for the particular bilingual work required at that particular time and location.

Interpretation Services

At times, it is not enough to simply have a 'translation' of information, since language determines thinking, it is really the thinking that needs to be translated, to avoid misunderstandings. Oftentimes this requires first, a 'translation', and then an 'interpretation' of what has been translated, followed by a 'rewriting' of the information to frame it in such a way that the information will be correctly interpreted by the end user.

Intellia Ltd provides interpretation services, to avoid the misunderstandings that can occur when using the power of a translation only.

Intellia Ltd's Interpretation services include the provision of a:

Limitatons to the Effectiveness of Language

We will always inform our clients of any ambiguties, difficulties and grey-areas, as well as possible blind spots that we encounter in our work.

It is our opinion that not "all" concepts that human beings would like to exchange can be translated. The way languages have evolved, and the way that language has been manipulated throughout history implies that certain concepts and thoughts cannot be a) articulated in that language b) cannot be translated into another language. While the world of languages provide for so many thoughts and concepts to be expressed, any one particular language is too limited as well as too manipulated to contain the means to articulate them or to articulate them properly.
