A combination of user task testing, situated co-inquiry, and special-purpose usability questionnaire, and user reports, has been used with a view of investigating the qualitative aspects of usability and to triangulate results to valid findings.

To conduct an initial usability analysis, the users environment, user tasks, user profile, user task context and main task influencers are examined.

The program also provides a database for conducting and recording research using the situated co-inquiry method. A situated co-inquiry is conducted with one user and one usability researcher. A full description on how to conduct a situated co-inquiry and forms are provided in the software.

In addition the software provides a user reports module which enables users to simply report and express anything they want to with respect to the company, and its product, service, website or software, that the user has been testing and evaluating.

The software features:

  • Database and form for consent for participation in usability research
  • Database and form for user profile screening
  • Documentation and forms on how to conduct user task tests and task test evaluations
  • Database and forms containing eight descriptive usability questionnaires
  • Database and forms containing three predictive usability questionnaires

  • Management reports of user questionnaire results
  • Documentation and forms on how to conduct a situated co-inquiry
  • Database of transcripts and transcript analysis of situated co-inquiries.
